Dr Ian Fred Burston (AM) Executive Chairman Ian Burston has more than 30 years experience in mining related industries. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) degree from Melbourne University and a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He has completed the Insead Management Course in Paris and the Harvard Advanced Management Program in Boston . Dr Burston was awarded the Western Australian Citizen of the Year (category of Industry and Commerce) in 1992, the Order of Australia (General Division) in 1993 and an Honorary Doctor of Science (Curtin) in 1995. Ian's career includes former positions as Managing Director of Portman Limited, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Gold Ltd, Chief Executive Officer of Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd, Vice President – WA Business Development of CRA Ltd and Managing Director of Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd. He was a non-executive Director of the Esperance Port Authority for 10 years and is currently a non-executive Chairman of Broome Port Authority and Imdex Ltd and a non-executive Director of Mincor Resources NL.
Mr Antony William Paul Sage (BCom, FCPA, CA, FTIA) Executive Director Antony Sage has more than 20 years experience in the fields of corporate advisory services, funds management and capital raising. Antony is based in Western Australia and was formerly a successful funds manager with Growth Equities Mutual for a period of 13 years. During the last 10 years he has been involved in the management and financing of several listed companies. He was instrumental in the successful listing of Gabriel Resources Ltd which operates in the Golden Quadrilateral in Romania. Since listing Gabriel has accumulated a total reserve of over 13 Million ounces of Gold and 60 Million ounces of Silver. Mr Sage was also one of the original founders of Redwave Media Ltd, a company which operates one of the largest radio network in Australia.
Mr Peter Landau Non-Executive Director Peter Landau is a corporate lawyer and corporate advisor having previously worked with Grange Consulting Group, Clayton Utz and as general counsel at Co-operative Bulk Handling. Peter is responsible for providing general corporate, capital raising, transaction and strategic advice to numerous ASX listed and unlisted companies. Peter Landau has project managed a significant number of mining exploration and development transactions including capital raisings, M & A, joint ventures and financings. Peter Landau is a Director of a number of ASX listed companies with particular focus on mining, oil and gas exploration and development in Australia and Africa. Companies include NKWE Platinum Limited, View Resources Limited, Range Resource Limited and Continental Goldfields Limited.
Mr Brian Joseph Maher (BME, FAusIMM, FIMM) Non-Executive Director Brian Maher has over 40 years experience in the mining industry, covering both underground and open cut operations, as a miner, supervisor, mining engineer, mine manager consultant, contractor and managing director. Brian has worked in diverse locations, including Australia, Liberia, Guyana and the Philippines. Brian's experience in the iron ore industry totals over 12 years. As a consultant to the mining industry, Mr Maher specialises in providing strategic advice to resource companies in the areas of management practices, mine development and production, and assisting companies through the transition from the exploration to the production stage. Brian Maher has a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and is a fellow of both The Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and The Institution of Mining and Metallurgy.
Mr Timothy Paul Turner (B Bus (Acc), FTIA, FCPA) Non-Executive Director - Company Secretary Timothy Turner is a Director and Company Secretary of Cape Lambert Iron Ore Limited. As a partner with accountants Hewitt Turner & Gelevitis, Timothy specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and tax structuring, due diligence reporting, new ventures and business development consulting. In addition, Tim is a Registered Company Auditor, Fellow of CPA Australia and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia. With over twenty years experience in management and business consultancy, Tim brings a wealth of experience to the board.
